Anyone who will lose money on therapy, surgery and drugs for cancer will end up opposing a cancer vaccine for women. No cancer...no expensive treatment needed. Companies want to be able to make all the money they can.

Yes but I am not sure what the group it. I think it is fundamentalist conservatives in general. The vaccine would actually prevent HPV (human papilloma virus) which is a sexually transmitted disease that causes cervical cancer. Their argument is that it will make people more promiscuous. However, I believe people are going to have sex, vaccine or not, there is a historical precedence of premarital sex regardless of how sinful it is. I would rather see people being protected from viruses rather than not be. They are in the process of creating a herpes vaccine as well as a AIDS vaccine.

Yes. According to the article you linked (as well as the websites of organizations in question), they oppose the vaccine on the grounds that HPV is a sexually transmitted disease, and if we make the vaccine available to young people, we're giving them free reign to have pre-marital (i.e. in the christian conservative viewpoint, "sinful") sex. It's the same argument they've been making against condoms in schools, access to birth control and abortion, etc. to further their abstinence only agenda. Nothing new here! Funny, don't you think, considering that current research shows that abstinence only education is not--and has never been--effective.
