I used to take birth control, but when I moved I completely stopped taking it. I havent had a period in about 7 months. I know this is unhealthy and I do plan on going to the doctor. I had sex a week ago and I was just wondering if since I havent had a period in a while will it lower my chances of getting pregnant?

There's nothing wrong with not having a period for 7 months. It's what happens to your body after you stop taking the pill. Your body needs time to adjust to not having the hormones on a regular basis and needs to remember how to do it on it's own. Even though you haven't had a period you can still get pregnant. If you aren't trying to get pregnant then you should be using a condom to prevent getting an STD. Don't forget to be safe, it's not just you you're trying to save, it's that unborn child that you might be pregnant with too.

I would not be comfortable assuming no period = no chance of getting pregnant. Use another form of birth control if you don't desire to become that way. The chances may be somewhat lower, but that's a pretty serious gamble to take.

You can still get pregnant. Even though you don't have a period you can still ovulate and still get pregnant. Best go to the doctor.

Very slim...usually if you are not having a cycle you are not ovulating and therefore can not get pregnant.

But just to let you know I would go to the doctor before I had unprotected sex again
