I am coming up on my 16th anniversary, married to another teacher. It has been wonderful.
The two teacher salaries together add up to one professional salary...lol!
Being married to a fellow teacher is good because....
1) You share the same vacation days.
2) Travel and other family activities during summer vacation.
3) When one of you is taking professional development courses or attending professional conferences during the summer, the other can be home watching the kids.
4) When you're totally stumped about a student, or a situation at work with a parent or administrator, you have someone who knows what's up to brainstorm with, who you also can trust.
5) Only a fellow teacher can REALLY understand the sort of day you've had, and just how essential that foot rub and chocolate are.
However, you really do want to teach in different buildings. Just as with any other type of career, being in the same building can result in extra stresses to your marriage because you are seen as interchangable, people tell one spouse and expect the other to already know, and if there are problems at work you as a couple get a double dose of it.
My husband and I don't have that problem, because I teach at the elementary level and he teaches high school.

It is a very good idea.Teacher couples known to me are doing exceptionally good.Their children are all well placed.The couples are setting a good example in the area.

They will possibly live frugally, but there's nothing wrong with it. I know several couples who are both in education. Most coaches are married to educators!

who really cares what the person u love is doing as an occupation(as longas it is legal). at the end of the day your love should out weight it all. plus yours kids might have a slight advantage in school(smart,homework,colleges)
