I play basketball all the time, too, so I suffer from knee problems. I have a weak left knee because of it. I suggest wearing a knee brace when you play the actual game. Keep taking Advil. Use that Icy Cold stuff that Shaq and Mia Ham advertise on TV. That really works. Take a bath and soak your knees. And stretch well before the game. Hope you play well tonight! :)

Like you're already doing, Advil and ice is a good idea. Also ice it during and after the game.

If you have a brace you can play in, use that too. I have knee problems as well and have used neoprene braces to help support my knee. I think it's more psychological helpful than anything, but I have run marathons with these braces.

I like the knee braces that have the patellar opening for the knee cap. Nike makes a nice "soft" one that you can probably use while you're playing, but there are other cheaper braces available. Check out your local sporting goods store for different knee braces. You don't need the one with all the metal structure....that would be more useful AFTER the game. You need a softer one that you can SLIP ON and will stay on during the game. Don't get the one that straps on with velcro....I've found those to not support well.

Good luck.

If you can find some emu oil, it is a pain relieving cream you rub in. Expensive, but worth it. I have found that it works pretty good for temporary relief. Long term I suggest getting some of the triple-flex doses of joint relief with Glucosamine and Chondroitin and MSM. I have just had a partial knee joint put in and arthroscopic on the other, so I am speaking from what has worked for me to relieve the pain until they got so bad that I needed replacement. Good luck.

u can put icy hot on it.. right before the game, but for right now, u can try putting hot compact on for 20 minutes and a cold comapact on for 20 minutes, dont' put either on for more then 25 minutes cause it will make ur knee hard to bend and will be painful for a bit. i would also wrap it if ur going to play tonight.. what kind of game are u playing soccer? baseball..? just be very carefull with it untill the game, u dont wanna ruin it more! good luck! hope i helped!

HGH (just kidding). Ice it after the game too.

Wear a knee brace during the day and the game.

That's all I can tell you.
