Have sex with your partner. There is something, a natural chemical, in their sperm that will help soften your cervix. Also try walking and drinking Raspberry Leaf tea three times a day. Go get a reflexology massage on your feet. There is a spot on the foot that is connected to the uterus and when done properly, will cause contractions. A warm, not hot, bath. Go to the doctor and have your membrane stripped. A doctor won't do this until you are about 38 weeks or so. Time. When it is ready, it will come!
Whatever you do, don't drink mineral oil! It could cause damage to you and the baby. Some older midwifes might say to do that, but I was told by no means, do not do that.

No... baby will come out when Mother nature says baby should.
There are some old wives tales out there..... caster oil (yeuch!), raspberry leaf tea, walking, having sex (yeah right, a man made that one up!), eating spicy foods.
I've heard that going to a reflexologist may help if she concentrates the massage in your uterus area on the foot. This is probably the best one to try as most pregnant mothers are advised not to get reflexology done when pregant unless by a practioner thats experienced with pregnant women.

I had 2 bowls of my mother-in-laws home made soup, made love with my husband(not at the same time lol) and within a few hours had labour!!I think it was down to the veg in the soup and they say that sex helps too, although this was not my intention (I had a bottle of castor oil in fridge which a mate of mine said would help) All in all my labour was 1 & half hours and nothing to be scared of (I was terrified!!) and suddenly I had a gorgeous wee girl!!! I really hope all goes well for you, and Im sure youwill soon be sharing your story on here too!!Best of luck, Donna

First it depends how far along you are. I hope you aren't trying to do it too early. Each baby knows when he or she is ready to be born and there is a chemical in their lungs that is produced when they are ready and that is what starts labor. If you are past your due date and are having a tough time you can do the sex and the walking, but PLEASE do not drink caster oil, it's not safe! Go get a pedicure and have them massage your pressure points in your ankles. It stimulates labor and it's a nice thing to do for yourself right before you deliver since you won't have a chance to do it again for awhile. Also, try your breathing exercises it makes your body believe that you are in labor and starts working at it right away. Good Luck!

Yes. Pick the date and time where it would be most inconvenient for you to go into labor. Plan something important on that date. You will most certainly go into labor!
Seriously..no sure fire way, but they say orgasms help. Have sex. Your hubby will love it because once you have the baby, he doesn't get any for at least six weeks!
So have some fun! At a minimum, it will make the wait more enjoyable.

Eat pineapples. apparently they contain the same chemicals as the drug they give to expectant mums to induce labour. I did with both of mine in the last week and they both arrived on the due dates I was given at the hospital

Try the bathroom Plunger...Sucks everything up from the toliet....Just kidding.
You have heard from several people saying an orgasim and something in a man's sperm brings on labor.
My wife wanted to induce labor herself for our third. One night she laid in bed and pushed down like she was already in labor. Held it to the count of 10. Waited three minutes, pushed down again. repeat this for at least an hour then stopped. Then she asked me to have sex. Sure enough 6 hours later she delivered.

There are three main things you can do: 1. Go for a VERY bumpy ride, 2. Eat VERY spicy food, and 3. Have an orgasm. The third is probably your best bet....and the most fun!

when your nipples are stimulated they produce the chemicle that makes you have contractions...you have to pinch hard, not painfully hard, I mean not just rubbing them(not something i was excited about if you are pregnant you know what i mean) you have to do it for about 15 min for it to be effective..so i just stayed in the shower a little longer and did my thing or you can get your husband to help I would have killed my husband if he would have even thought of looking at my nipples so i did it my self I was in labor the next morning.....you can have your doctor strip your membranes.... it never worked for me . I know you get tired of hearing this but it will happen when your body is ready and not before!!!!
