what is the best way to undertand stoichiometry?on what branch of chemistry should we be good at to start stoichiometric solving ?

just learn the formulae......they're pretty easy and the questions in stoichometry are also quite simple, so the only thing u hv to do is to apply those formulae.......and a bit of brains!!!!

Start with the stoichiometry section of a general chemistry textbook. Any of them will have pretty good explanations of stoichiometry and how to solve stoichiometry problems.

convert grams of potassium chlorate into moles by using its molecular weight, then from the equation you can see that 3 moles of oxygen is created for every 2 moles of potassium chlorate used up, so you can calculate how many moles of O2 are made. then using the ideal gas law equation PV=nRT you can solve for volume of oxygen by plugging in all your variables (don't forget to convert degrees C into K for the equation), V=nRT/P you have all the variables to plug in after you calculate the moles of O2 produced.

all you need is basic math skills. it all comes down to moles. the equation will tell you the ratio between 2 elements and you can figure everything based on that.
