it seems like you already found the right time - I moved my daughter to a mattress on the floor when she was a little over 2. It all depends on the child and what is going on in the family. Some people like to wait a little longer for an active child so they have the confind space. Others move their child at 2. Usually somewhere between 2 and 3 is common. But you also have to consider your child's personality and attitude. Another thing to keep in mind is what is going on in your family - for example, it isn't best to move from a crib to bed the day you bring a baby home from the hospital. But, mostly, the best time is when it works for your family and you seem to have already figured that out! :)

When you feel comfortable. If she can climb in and out of your big bed without falling, then it could be time. I put my kids in a twin bed about that time and all I did was make sure that it is comfortable and safe. We went out and let them pick out their bed sets and that makes them feel important and big. Then put one side up against the wall and get a guard rail (Wal-mart or Target) for the other side. Until I got used to my kids being in the big bed, I would go in after they went to sleep and lined pillows up on the floor. Just in case they fell out, it would be soft.

if she is crawling out of the crib, it's a good time. be sure to use a safety rail so she does not fall out of the toddler bed. remember, she is mobile now. that means she'll more than likely be trying to join you in your bed. all kids do it. good luck

we moved our son to his 'big boy bed' when he was 2 years old. i think it all depends on your child...

suggestion: buy one of those safety rails for the big bed, so she feels safe. it's generally not needed if the child is used to sleeping in a toddler bed, but it helps them feel like they're not going to fall out of the 'giant' bed.

good luck!
