My husband has a masters in computer science. His company is using all the main programmers to write instruction documentation to teach the Phillipines how to program the companies projects so they can lay off Thousands of employees in their Rochester,New York office.
How can America let companies do this to all these people?
I understand that companies need to watch profit, but I also think when you go to this extreme you are hurting our country in a big way.
Someday my husbands job will be in the hands of some Indonesian.

Its really American corporations that are doing it. They want to maximise profits for their shareholders. That is a stupid short term view. They dont realise they are bankrupting their customers and nation in the process. If their customers have no jobs, how are they going to buy their products?

Outsourcing is just a red herring. The real threat to jobs is mechanization. Once robots are cheaper and more efficient to produce, all menial human workers may be replaced. Once positronic brains develop the capacity to think on their own and be more creative than humans, no human will be necessary. What the humans do not understand is that in giving corporations personhood, they have effectively created new entities in competition with humanity, no matter how esoteric:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Corporation
These entities seek to complete their missions, which may or may not include a valuing of human life. Corporations that strictly exist to gain profits will obviously see human life as inefficient and cumbersome in regards to meeting this goal, such that cybernetic solutions may make more sense to them after human cease to be the most efficient means of profit development.
I am uncertain what place human life will have in such a world in the future, but the possiblity exists that humans will be simply seen as redundant or even pests. Extermination may even be a possible solution to the inefficiency.
That said, outsourcing to other humans hardly seems the worst future risk the US could be facing.
On the other hand, I do hope it clarifies where the outsourcing comes from. It is nothing personal. In fact, it is completely impersonal. Our economy was irrelevant to the equation as a corporation may become multinational and not have to worry about the woes of one nation or another. Your concerns are not as relevant because such corporations as "persons" are more equal than you because they supposedly serve many persons and may exist in many places simultaneously, hence, your concerns may now be seen as less important than the concerns of a corporation.
Anyhow, good luck with that survival thing!

1. In countries like CHINA,india a US co. like Microsoft can hire 5 people for the pay they pay here for 1 employee.
1 USA Employee = 5 Chinese employees.
2. Also illegal immigrants from Mexico are sucking the USA govt for welfare, that govt has no money to encourage industrial growth in usa.
3. By 2020, there shall be no social security benefits left!
4. People from Asia,Europe cannot come illegally because they are far away and to fly they need the right documents to enter USA.
5. People from Canada and Mexico can make easy entry due to geographical locations.
So the IT companies know there is no future here! instead of feeding welfare, its better to fill my own pocket and write off expenses to save taxes!

The jobs that can be done cheaper remotely should be outsourced. This will allow the rest of Americans to get better education and do more interesting jobs than data entry and installing Windows XP patches on computers across the network.

Good questions. According to the rules of capitalism, they're making all the right moves-- more work accomplished for cheaper labor. But what's that do for us?
The whole system needs restructuring, yo. Mad companies outsource to avoid paying benefits, leaving us jobless AND medically vulnerable.
It's a sad time to be coming up in the world.

Go get retrained. That's Bush's answer... That's right, the degree you *just* got is totally worthless now and you need to go back.
Interest rates are rising, so good luck with another round of student loans...
