Okay.... so I'm not a child of the late 70's and early 80's, but we had cartoons in "the olden days" too!
There was one really great cartoon on Saturday in the 90's and into the 2000's that I loved! It was 'Recess'. Whoever wrote it, remembered all too well what it was like being in grade school. It was great.
I don't like the anime crap with the big eyes and the mouths that don't move. They creep me out!

The one thing that strikes me now, (now that I'm OLD!), is how the Bugs Bunny cartoon introduced us to classical music, and we had no idea. I'll hear a song and go... "That's 'Kill the Wabbit'!" If you watch the old Bugs Bunny cartoon, you'll see what I mean.

I grew up in the mid 60's through the early 70's. Saturday morning cartoons were the greatest. Plain and simple Cartoons on TV today suck. The animation and drawings due to computer graphics has come along way. The Content/story line have gone in the opposite direction.

Cartoons were much better! I have vivid memories of coming home after school and watching the "Cartoon Express" Our local cable channel had one hour of cartoon programming (cartoon expresss) after school hours. It was such a big deal. I love the Wonder Twins.....so many people have never heard of the wonder twins
Wonder twins activate, shape of an ice bridge, form of a panther. Great stuff!

Cartoons in the 80's were the absolute best.....that is why they have tried to remarket everything from Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles to Strawberry Shortcake and the Carebears. I remember waking up early Saturday morning with a huge bowl of cereal and sitting in front of the TV all morning! Cartoons now are just lousy.

I miss our old school cartoons. Gummy bears, my lil pony, transformers, thundercats, regular looney tunes, Muppet babies, smurfs, scooby doo. those were some great shows, and cartoons were so much more simpler back then. now a day there is so much going on in them you get lost. and I hate all this anime, it sucks cartoons with big boobs and tinny waists, and huge butts. what is that about. there was a little bit of sexuality in the old cartoons but now a days that is all i see.

I grew up in the 90's, but I watched some older cartoons... and yeah, I agree, they were 10000 times better than today. I see kids today watching some Japanese stuff, they're always fighting or whatever... no wonder kids today are so messed up (well, most of them).

Yeah. Even the Simpsons wasn't supposed to be a show for kids and although I watched it, I had to turn away at the "Itchy and Scratchy Show" because it was so disgusting. Nowadays, all of the cartoons seem to be like "Itchy and Scratchy"...yuck!
