is infant male genital mutilation women's backlash against patriarchy?

this is a bit of a chicken or egg scenario... in the previous question i was asking if infant male genital mutilation causes (perhaps partly) men to grow up women haters (which i could understand...)

here i'm wondering if, given the horrific nature of the surgery, and that fact that it is medically unnecessary, more points to a way in which women have paid men back for having the authority, for creating patriarchal societies.

either way there might be a vicious circle going on here.

Actually, from what I've seen, it seems to have more to do with guys not realizing that that skin is bigger, and far more important, than they think, mostly because they don't have it. I've heard a few guys who have it done to their kids solely because it's been done to them, with no real concept of why. We've gone through a lot of reasons, as a society, for doing it, including to prevent epilepsy and mental illness.

Now we're starting to learn that it doesn't prevent any of the health problems that we thought it did, and it actually has a negative effect on sexual health of men and women.

And for those who say women prefer circumcised... American women prefer it, because most American guys are that way. Outside of the US, most of the ladies I've interacted with are quite turned off by it. And as the wife of a man who's pursuing nonsurgical foreskin restoration, I can verify that it is quite preferable for both partners, and it would be more preferable if his parents hadn't paid a professional to remove the original structures, including important parts that protect both partners from infection.

Do you mean as in 'circumcision' which was traditionally done by male priests or rabbis who were members of Male run & Managed religious organizations. Circumsion as practiced by semetic tribes 1000-6000 years ago to present disease in klnds where ther was little water, much sand, no antibiotics, no showers and a high rate of mortal infections in the penile foreskind? Or circumsion that up until the 1960"s was usually performed in the western world by Male doctors in Male administrated medical facilities.
Where do the women as mutilators come in?
Or have you some other type of mutilation in mind?

I don't think the battle of the sexes can be blamed on this one act, especially since most cultures that don't have it present still have some form of a male dominated society established.

If anything, I would blame it on women's ability to give birth. Man might be jealous on an inherent level of not being able to recreate himself by himself.

Eve may have given us all "original sin", but she still was built to carry life while Adam was only meant to destroy life - i.e. Men destroy animals for food, destroy other men for territory, destroy themselves with drug addiction. And yes while women do that too, the bodies we were born with give us a different primary purpose. But what happens after we bring life into this world is a whole other topic.

Yikes!! what are you saying?? women mutilate their male children's sex organs?? I have never heard of this anywhere. Are you referring to circumsisions? They started as a Jewish tradition only, then were adopted by many other cultures as a way to keep the male genitals clean easier. Not having a foreskin prevents alot of bacterial infections , I've heard. Sounds like a weird personal issue of yours to me. Are you a woman hater? Psycho killer?

I would only have a child of mine circumcised if it was medically necessary! Personally I don't see the point of it (unless you are Jewish). So what if we have a patriarchal society, its more fun rebelling and doing male dominated jobs and past times etc!
