Not sure if I agree with that...but I do agree that circumcision is the worst thing that you can do to your children. When is the U.S. going to wake up?

I don't think so... go back a little further... let's say to Adam and Eve, where Eve committed the original sin. I think that's a better candidate for the "root of misogyny." By the way, most doctors who perform circumcisions are male, and the parent who is more likely to want their child to be circumcised is the father. Ask any man who is circumcised if he'd rather be "au natural."

There are health reason to have a child undergo male circumcision. Unfortunately, the procedure also has fewer complications when it is performed at birth.
My father is not circumcised. He is in his 70's now and has experienced severe trauma from prostrate problems for the last 15 years. It has caused him grief ranging from constant pain, urinary problems, sleep difficulties, to being denied insurance in his late 50's.
My son's surgery was agonizing. It was also over and done with within minutes. I wish it were that easy for my father. His health is failing due to the many problems he is experiencing.
Male circumsicion is not the same as female genital mutilation. There is absolutely no comparison. My son will not hate me, or his father for this when he is older. I was against the surgery and the males of our family were very vocal in their disagreement with my decision.

Ok circumcision doesn't count as "genital mutilation"--have you SEEN what they do to women? And they don't even have the decency to do it when the girls are babies, they do it when they're what, twelve? To leave some lasting memories!
Male "genital mutilation" comes from a belief that it is what god wants, and it is continued and carried out by men. The father has just as much say and we all damn well know it because, thanks of course to this misogyny, men have pretty much all the power.
If they were so bitter about it, would they let "us" do it to their sons??

I doubt it. I know some uncircumcised men who are quite possibly the most misogynistic men in the world. And no, they aren't my exes.
