Honestly I used to work for target! I am by no means making excuses for the Guest service to be so rude ... but when you are n the corporation there is so much shady sh*t going on. For any lil thing you get in trouble for they have some dumb @ss rules that the worker have to follow. But to ease you tension a lil bit there is a number that you can call to get the store in trouble for bad service , Tell them that they were not FAST, FUN or Friendly. and Thats should put the store on heels , next time you are there ask the store for their corporate #. they will have to give it to you and Report their @sses!
By the way I said used to work for them, I resigned b/c of their shadyness and I did not want that as a career. there are many people there that are so unprofessional from the team members all the way up to the Executive Store Team Lead! (a bunch of Rude People) that what the red stands for ANGER!

It depends...I'm in Central New Jersey and I've been to about four Targets in the state...At some of them, the "Guest Services" are so good -- two employees working the line, smiles and greetings, quick service. At the other two, there was one person who seemed overwhelmed (understandably) with a super-long line, and three calls to management for "back-up" heeded no response. I thought they were just having an "off" day (maybe someone called out?) but it happened the same way two other times at that same location. Overall, I'm a fan of Target's selection and low prices, but how you'll be treated as a customer is a toss-up.

oh boy i thought I was the only one. I like the store and all but the people working there are "off the hook". I am not even speaking of the same store as you. I am out on the east coast and the same thing happens here. The customer service workers function as if they own the store and seem to have an attitude when a person wants to return an item or even for that matter, just ask them a question.

Just because of me experiencing this type of treatment I frequent other, similar stores in my area- or if I wanna do big shopping , i go to wal-mart which is avout a 45 minute ride from my house- it's worth not having to deal with a certain type of persons when you go out to spend your hard earned money

I love Target but yes sadly I have had bad customer service at a Target. There's one in Highland Park and the people there were just very rude to us. The one in Vernon Hills is the same way.
The Target that is by my house in Gurnee and the other in Waukegan have great customer service though.

i will not shop at target ever , not only are the associates there rude, untrained and just have a lazy attitude some of them dont even speak English (no lie)how does that help me as a customer. i also wont shop target because they advertise that they give back 2 million every week to schools, which is great but they do that as advertisement for their company,so that 2 million every week comes out of their advertising budget plus its a tax write off. basically my overall experiences there have been bad

The Target where I live (Bay City, MI) is wonder full! I don't think that I've ever had a bad experience there. It's actually one of my favorite stores to shop at. Sorry every one elses suck.

Target sucks I have stoped going there around Christmas time, the most horrible place, I think walmart is better, at least you know what to expect and half the price.

i wouldn't say my experience with target was horrible... but i DID have to return a DVD that was defective, and they made me get the same DVD over & over again (4 times) because the ENTIRE shipment of it was defective with the same sound problem. and i had to basically check every DVD myself (they had four copies all together). I finally made enough stink that they gave me a refund.

but, i can't shop at wal-mart... they tried to kill me once. no, really... i got my tires done there & they didn't bolt one of them down. as we drove away - a few miles down the road - the tire came flying off and we crashed. it was a horrendous experience and wal-mart did the BARE MIMIMUM to make it "right". all they did was replace the dented fender... tell me there wasn't undercarriage damage to that car. PLEASE!

so, target is my option and I stick with it. haven't shopped at wal-mart since 2003.
