To let go of what? Death is a door, a seemingly unknown piece of life that is the natural procession for all things living. Who says we have to be ready one should fight death all the way through and once you reach death you can shake its hand stare it straight in the eye and acknowledge that it was a worthy opponent .

Die. If I knew I was dying, what could I do to change it?
And acceptance is the answer to all my problems. Besides, if you have a faith in God, which I do, you know you all ready live in eternity.
But then, if a life was as bleak as what you described, I'm wondering why an individual didn't do something with the life given to him/her before this point? If nothing else, one can always do or say something nice to someone else to cheer them up. There are so many lonely and unhappy people today, why not get into volunteering to a nice charitable group. Then one wouldn't be alone any more.
Even joining a church, even if you didn't believe the doctrine would be better than being alone. And who knows, one may see the light and acquire a new family! Then they are not alone!
Simple solution!

I would do alot of inner thinking...going back to memories that brought me happiness as well as memories that I may have been wrong or wronged someone...and make peace with God over it... Then I would go outdoors and look at the wonders of the earth...walk in the woods and watch the life around me...Interesting fact though is that we all ARE actually dying yet we live as though it will never happen... we should all appreciate our family, friends and lives as though we did know...the quality of our existence would be much greater.

Not only would I feel ready to go, I would say, "bring it on!!!!". If I had all that other stuff, I might feel sad about having to leave, whereas without it, death just feels like a new adventure. Journey out into the unknown! Be a pioneer! Commit suicide.

Presuming I could still walk a few miles (that's asking a lot when you know your dying) I'd go into the woods to my favorite spot, lie down and let go.

You have to know that you are ready to let go long before you know that you are dying.

Gee, if you have no money, no family, and no where to go, it would seem that you are already to go. The last part would be acceptance of your fate.

remember everything that was good in my life, think to the people I loved. And I might realise what I could have done.
