Are They Serious?

Question

I've been here reading and answering questions last few weeks some crack me up I mean some are ridiculous you don't know whether the person is being serious or just very dumb or thinking its a funny joke.
So my question is what question on here can you remember made you think are they really asking this.
I'm hoping my question isn't dumb lol .

The question about how do I send a letter out of the country hits the spot.
They have all been smart enough to get on yahoo answer (learn to use computer )
So thats kinda what I mean We are answering question maybe seriously thinking my god this person doesn't even know how to send mail but maybe they really don't and you can't be rude and say are you an idiot coz they might be

I was asking myself the same thing...it would be different if you got points for asking questions, then you could understand people asking all kinds of crappy questions just to get points quicker. There were a few questions that made me wonder about the asker's mental capacities, but the best one's gotta be this: HOW DO YOU SEND A LETTER TO ANOTHER COUNTRY? Unless it was a 6-year-old asking, I don't think there is much hope in the world for this person.

Sorry, Jill, yes it is dumb. Some people ask serious questions. I answered a question and the answer hit the spot with someone desperate for help and I got a message and was able to help. Some people are just arseholes and ask stupid questions. But some questions are for fun and we try to give humorous answers. I hope the fun doesn't go out of it. It would get very depressing.

Somebody once wrote a question in the politics and government section that was completely genuine and seeking both sides of an issue. I forget what; it's in my history somewhere. You can usually gauge an asker's intent on their semantics, though.

I answered the guy, mentioning in my answer how much I appreciated his sincerity, and he voted it best and left comments on how he appreciated a genuine answer.

So, yeah, most of this Answers is just some $h!t to pass the down-time, but once in awhile you'll come up on some real $h!t that gets you hyped. It's mostly toys, though. Toys trying to get their groundless opinions validated.

Some of the time it's like mothering them! When people ask a stupid question then you answer like you would a little child, and be polite and patient and it's good for the old ego.
Most of the time though I just mock them... I can't help it!

I just answered a question from a guy who was clearly racist - he asked how educated and respectable blacks felt about that crack addicts in our race that make us look bad. It was clearly offensive, and it made me wonder why he even posted that question...

Most peoples here are just for fun ..
They ask funny question and answer stupids as well ..
So its my request to be wise , don't keep this facility as a game ....

theres so many. i see alot of "how do i know if he/she likes me". alot of really young people on here. some questions are funny and are meant to be funny you can tell, but some are just dumb.

One kid asked"Am I at B******! Who knows that question. I mean........We don't even know these people where communicating with. They shouldn't ask such dumb questions.......there taking up space on yahoo!answers!
