Here is what my SO and I went as last three years:
-Wonder Twins Zan & Jana (from the Superfriends)
-UPS guys (one of our shirts said SHIPPING, the other said RECEIVING)
-Batman & Robin
If you are by yourself, and wnat to be a female, pick a fun character, not just a plain woman, that's boring.
some ideas: Jeannie from "I dream of Jeannie"
or Wonderwoman

Dress up as a straight macho guy...lol..just kidding. I say you should dress up as a vampire, that's always fun, cause then you get to chew/kiss/bite on people's neck and get away with it.
