Cat have a memory that is 200 times more retentative then a dogs. The feline uses his/hers memory for what he regards as usful functions. So a cats memory is quite selective.

I think a cat like a dog has a live for the moment attitude. They don't remember what you were wearing yesterday, or that you changed their food.
