you just plug it in with your cable it will charge, no itunes needed.

You have to charge the iPod on an Apple Computer that has iTunes. But, there are other things that will charge your iPod. Certain things like the iHome will charge your iPod while it plays.

You can charge it on any computer as long as it is a mac, windows on a computer brand that works with ipods.
