The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.
I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.
Associations may be a good avenue to explore as well. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.
Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:
* How to Start & Manage a Convenience Food Store Business by Jerre G. Lewis
* Start and Run a Profitable Retail Business by Jim Dion, Ted Topping
* Retail Business Kit for Dummies by Rick Segel
* Specialty Shop Retailing: How to Run Your Own Store Revised by Carol L. Schroeder
* So You Want To Own The Store: Secrets to Running a Successful Retail Operation by Mort Brown
Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

I would recommend you the most profitable online business which is fully automated. This homebased business is very much different from other business which requires lot of time, energy and money. This incredible system allows you to earn fortune without selling, advertising, prospecting, closing or answering questions. It works 24/ 7 and you can earn profit for each automatic sale, sitting in your home, enjoying life with family and friends or on vacation. . This system allows you to earn $3000 everyday. This business has been selected to be featured in National television ( Discovery channel and CNN )
Visit the website and then place the CALLBACK request to see how powerful the system is.

Go to the local Chamber of Commerce and they should have brochures about starting up a business in your city, with all the right information of who to contact regarding business licenese and permits.
It's also a good idea to go research on the internet and talk to the local businesses in your community. Often times, store owners are happy to help, because someone gave them a hand.

the dollar store concept is always a good idea ( recession proof ). Open up your own Dollar store, a friend of mine did it and now is very successful.
There are so many ways make money if you want to.
But do not limit yourself there are alot of ways to make money from the internet also
- if you live in a bigger area a home business of selling products on Ebay. Goto pawn shops, antique stores, local artists, and put on there products onto Ebay for a precentage of the sale ( EVERY LITTLE INVESTMENT HAS TO BE MADE TO GET THIS IDEA UP AND GOING)
a local couple did this idea in my area but has not got contracts to list local artists or antique store to products on Ebay --- they are missing out on a huge chance of allows having merchandise selling

do you have experience in this type of store? have you ever managed one before? if not you are going to have high overhead and low return to look forward to. start with a franchise store for the most success. they give you a plan to follow that has been proven successful.
