My husband proposed to me without any drama, on the shore of a lake, in total seclusion. He told me afterwards he knew he was going to propose to me long before but he hadn't known where, when, or how. We went to the lake on a whim out of sheer boredom, horsed around for a bit, and watched the sunset over the lake. Shortly after the sunset all the way he pulled me close, kissed me, and then whispered into my ear his proposal. No getting down on one knee, no elaborate speech. He hadn't even found a ring yet. He said he just knew the moment was right. There had been no advance planning, no elaborate set-up, just a feeling that he had found the perfect moment, and honestly, to know that my guy was that sensitive and that caring to pop the question when there was no ring and no formal set up was amazing to me. He asked at that exact moment for no other reason then it felt right. But I'm a romantic sap.
A few weeks later we went and picked out the engagement ring/wedding set together. I wouldn't have had it any other way.

My husband took me to my favorite restaurant and proposed before dessert. He even got down on one knee. But that's not the sweet part...
The week before "the big night", he sent me flowers every day. I was a high school teacher at the time, and I had one class that was mostly girls so he knew if I got flowers during that class the girls would all make a big deal out of it. But that's not the sweet part either...
When he sent the flowers, there was one word on the back of each card and I didn't even notice until he pointed it out. On each card he put "Will" - "you" - "marry" - "me?".... he asked me to bring them to dinner and he put them in order on the table. We always joke that he was so nervous it took him a week to propose!
By the way ~ EVERYONE knew except me! My whole family, all my friends... and I didn't have a clue.

we were in a hotel, and he was hiding under a blanket, stuttering, and he asked me to marry him, i thought he was kidding, so i asked if he was, and when he started to turn pink i said yes
