You always want to put your friend first. Would it really to be worth it to lose a friend over someone you THINK you love? You have more of a chance for that person to not love you back, rather than your friend being there for you. Let your friend go for it first.

if the guy is not interested in me and is interested in my friend I'd leave to be together, but if he likes me and not her and we have a chance for relationship, I'd definitely give it a try - and if my friend is really my friend she should be supportive as I would be if it was the other way around
