In a relationship your life will always be controlled in some sort of way.
Now letting him have total control, well that's your fault. If your grown then your life is your life. You make the choices. If you feel that he had to much control talk to him let him know, if he doesn't make a change then leave. Unless you like being controlled.

its easy really. set your boundaries form the early on. make sure your partner knows your dead serious about the whole 'your life is your life and my life is my life' thing. at least in the beginning of the relationship. that way if either of u is the possesive kind, u know about it early on into the relationship and noone gets hurt.... once you guys have been togther for a long time it is understndable to be a little possessive...
i truly believe the only person who controls your life is YOU.. any sign of it becoming otherwise, is not a good sign. your always too good to be pushed around by someone eelse...u live the life u want to, not the life they want u to live!!!!!

Easy. Take control of your own life. Don't let anyone control you. And ... don't get in a controlling relationship.

A healthy relationship contains mutual respect. If you can't respect each other's needs and come to a compromise when those needs don't mesh - then it's not a relationship worth pursuing.
A relationship isn't about control - it's about sharing your life with another person.

State from the beginning that you are your own person. Capable of making your own decisions and will continue to. You may have to compromise on a few issues but do not let anybody control you.
