I like to look at human development as a form of evolution. I took developmental psychology a few years ago. I have also taken a sociology class. I feel that the two actually "completed" each other.
Developmentally, children to adults have evolved into the humans that we are today. We are mentally, physically, and emotionally different than we were 100 years ago. Time and events sinse then have been major factors contributing to how we think, feel, and act today.

I look at the psychodynamic for insight to understand the stages of development, and look for behaviourism to mend and form negative behaviour, and inforce the positive...in the end human development is all about learning, and that's where behaviourism comes in.
Good luck

I prefer the theory of TRUTH

AKA: Theories Rely on Understood Truths [very] Heavily.
