Because some people think that an embryo isn't a life until the heart starts beating in the womb, so it doesn't matter and a dog can't tell you not to do that. But why would you want to do that any way? If you feel it necessary to kick it, then you don't need a dog. Just like some women don't need to have kids.

Because there is dispute over whether the unborn baby is alive. We all know your dog is alive and has the mortal spark in him right now, while with unborn children, we cant really say when the child is truly "alive." It's really a moral/religus issue

Those are two totally unrelated issues.
A women should have the right to decide what she wants to do with her body. Pregnancy isn't always planned, and doesn't always happen in a pleasant way. She could have been raped.
Why would you kick your dog or harm any animal? If you tend to have those types of feelings towards animals, then you shouldn't own any.

Because we keep electing one mistake after the other . The laws of this country are so far off base it isn't even funny any more . I personally know of a case where a guy was sentenced to 25 years in prison for dealing in drugs and another sentenced to prison for 9 years for premeditated murder. Go figure that one out
