Depends on the email service. with yahoo you can't.
When I want to know...i send an e-card...like 123greetings.com...that way I get confirmation.

when you send the message through your email client, just enable the "request delivery reciept" option and you get an email when somebody clicks open the email and agrees to send the reciept. also, recieving of the email is almost certain if it doens not bounce back

in any email, whether on the internet or through outlook, eudora, You cannot 'guarantee' that the person willget, you just hope the do.
