Why is there a difference? I mean can u possibly explain it in words?

Children are solely in the moment, even when they are not having fun. Adults tend to look to the future, and cosequences and the like. Fun is the same, but the word, indeed, is different. Fun has no consequence to the child, and so much can be fun; fun to the adult is an escape to that ideal, to become a child again, if just for a moment.

young child would not have a care in the world, when they are able to run around within their own world without restriction or consequences, they are having fun . a working adult would perceive fun as spending quality time with those they love because since they are busy in life, they don`t have time to enjoy life and appreciate how much closed ones mean to them.

I believe that humans, in general, enjoy novelty and/or doing things they don't normally do. It seems to me that fun activities are the things I normally don't have time for. It can be reading a good book, going to the movies, going on a hike, going sky-diving or doing something I have never done before.
I think children are the same; but because so many things are new to children they find excitement and fun in so many things - they are jsut beginning to discover their world. Adults, on the other hand, are also continuing to discover their world, but because they have seen and experienced more than children what they would classify as fun would likely be much narrower in scope than children.
This is just my conception of what people (children and adults) find fun. I could be way off mark.

You know.....they don't always perceive it that differently. I am an adult. My favorite things are going to the zoo, the carnival. I LOVE to make children happy. The best gift to me is to see them smile. I am having SO much fun if they are happy. Am I weird? My husband thinks I'm nuts BUT when he sees me having fun...then he is having fun too.

A child has fun learning while playing and a adult has fun taking a break from what they have learned!
