Some people think that a dejavu is kinda like a brain fart, you never experienced something before but when you see it the first time sometimes your brain tweaks for a second and then goes back to normal, so when it goes back to normal you think you seen it a long time ago before, but you actually just seen it like a second ago. Kinda get it?

The term déjà vu (French: "already seen", also called paramnesia) describes the experience of feeling that one has witnessed or experienced a new situation previously.
In recent years, déjà vu has been subjected to serious psychological and neurophysiological research. The most likely candidate for explanation, according to scientists in these fields, is that déjà vu is not an act of "precognition" or "prophecy" but is actually an anomaly of memory; it is the impression that an experience is "being recalled" which is false. This is substantiated to an extent by the fact that in most cases the sense of "recollection" at the time is strong, but any circumstances of the "previous" experience (when, where and how the earlier experience occurred) are quite uncertain. Likewise, as time passes, subjects can exhibit a strong recollection of having the "unsettling" experience of déjà vu itself, but little to no recollection of the specifics of the event(s) or circumstances they were "remembering" when they had the déjà vu experience, and in particular, this may result from an overlap between the neurological systems responsible for short-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the present) and those responsible for long-term memory (events which are perceived as being in the past).

there is a scientific explanation for that. we've tackled that subject in Psychology class but i can't remember the exact explanation. but what i know is our mind sometimes tend to playback at an instant without us knowing it. it happen so fast that we thought we have been into a certain place or we have done exact certain thing before. but the truth is we had just a mind fast playback if i can call that thing that..
hope i have helped you.

You probably have a more evolved brain. The subconscious can 'read' the future so it's already experienced the event. When you actually do experience the event in our physical world, that's where the deja vu comes from.

you may of thought a week ago in your mind "hiking would be way fun" for a brief second while your watching this hiking show...and then today your friend is like "i went hiking" and you go "hiking would be fun" adn your like "wow i just got dejavu" it's usually because of one or more things that weve done in the past that link together like puzzle pieces to create a new image and when we stimulate that new image our mind puts those other pieces together and thinks its been here before.

I don't know if it's true, but I heard it's kind of like lag time. You know when you watch a TV show but the voice & the picture are not in sinc? Well, it's kind of like that. Youv'e seen it but it only sem-registers in your brain. When it finally clicks it's like you've seen it before.

its like when u feel u've dreamed that something would happen, and its happening right in front of you. its when u feel you've done something already, like heard that sentence or seen that guy walk through the door that way, but really you've never experienced any of it in real life.

It's where one eye sends its message to the brain slightly quicker than the other. Your brain gets confused as its already got the information from one eye, therefore, you think you have been/seen before!

It's just something that happens... you just recognize that you've done that thing before.
And are there really any true scientific explanations for anything?
