Christ died for us so we may be forgiven our sins. It wasn't until this that we had a chance of repentance

I think you may need to re-asses where you got your information from.
Most intelligent christians no longer see that as having actually occurred, due to the countless inconsistencies presented by independent and religious research.
For example:
Is there a consistent reading of the Flood story of Genesis? How many of each kind of clean animal went on the Ark? Try presenting a calendar of the events of the Flood from the birth of Noah through the birth of Arpachshad (sometimes called Arphaxad, grandson of Noah), paying special attention as to the day when Noah entered the Ark and how long the Flood lasted.

Explain the logistics of loading and unloading the Ark. Relate this to the time available.

Explain how there were pairs, male and female, of social (forming colonies), parthenogenic (female only) and hermaphroditic (both sexes in one individual) animals.

And where did all of the water come from and go to?

All the best.

No, because there is no hope for redemption after death. Those people had their chances to accept Noah's preaching and begin the atonement rituals that the people of the Old Testament era had to perform under the dispensation of Law to gain and maintain their salvation. Since Jesus Christ had yet to be born, this was the only acceptable method.

According to the tradition of Noah's Ark and the flood God destroyed the people and the earth because they had become an abomination to God. Therefore those destroyed did not have the opportunity for salvation, something that they had declined, just as we also have one chance to get it right in this lifetime.

No. Everyone has one time around. That is why the Bible is so urgent with its appeals for repentance.

God says:
"I take no pleasure in the death of anyone, decares the Soveriegn LORD, Repent and live!" (Ezekiel 18:32)
