It was a movie, not a real story like most movies are.

The story may have been true, but no one was eaten in the movie. Movies may tell a story that really happened, but what happens in a movie is never "real"--people seem to get shot and cut up or eaten, but not really.

That is why your History teacher in High School showed you Hollywood movies instead of teaching you something they knew nothing about.
Hollywood knows all man, they never tell you anything that ain`t true.

There was that incident in New Jersey in 1916 where four people were killed and two were partially devoured, upon which the story is based.
