You have to take dance classes in the style you prefer. Formal dance training is not just about learning the moves, but the terminology that goes with it. Back up dancers need to be able to hear the combinations told to them and be able to do them almost immediately. The demonstration is for working out the kinks and polishing the routine. Once you understand all the terminology, then you'll be able to communicate your choreography ideas to other people.

get in shape gets loads of practice and do shows! Anything and everything, local pantomime, whatever, the more show experience you get the better and try to get a qualifiacation from your dance teacher.

Join professional ensemble (group), participate in the recitals. That will be your foundation, the rest is up to you.
