Emergencies. Believe me, when you work night shift at one of these stores, when you go to the restroom or to the stock room, you DO NOT want anyone coming in when you are not fully alert and unable to see what is going on in the store.

The stores where i live close for holidays even if they are 24/7, another reason they would lock the doors is if someone announces a child is missing they lock the doors so if the child was abducted the person who abducted the child will not get out with the child. i am not sure how well that helps because i doubt they waste any time getting out of the store so if a parent doesn't realize the child is missing for 5 minutes the abductor and the poor child is probably already gone.

They might need to close sometime for an emergency or something. The seven eleven down the street from me is 24 hours but they always close on Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Years for only half a day though. What if the store goes out of business and someone else wants to purchase it they might not want a 24 hour store.

Because the door and window manufacturers don't make a special line of doors just for 24-hr stores without locks on them!
