It's an oldie called... Too Young... The Hero!

A classic War film!!!

Bridge over the River Kwai!!!

escape to victory!!!

I'm not into War films as such... but these films have historical significance...

Saving Private Ryan... Based on true facts... Amazing Film.

if i do have to watch a film that is true... i can't watch anything weepy... i'm to much of an Empath... so end up dwelling on them for ages!

I agree Alive is a good film!

titanic was spoilt by winslett and di crapio! If it had a few better actors, the film wouldn't have been half bad, as the visuals where pretty cool... just the acting made me fall asleep!

"Murder in The First" - This is the true story of Henry Young who, along with his younger sister, were orphaned. While trying to provide food and shelter for his sister, Henry finally reached the end of his rope and stole $5 from a store. Unfortunately, the store was also a US postal outlet (this took place in about the 1930's) and the penalty for stealing from a postal outlet was life in prison.

Henry was sent to Alcatraz and because he tried to escape once, he was placed in solitary confinement - in a dungeon - and was subjected to complete darkness, living on a dirt floor with no bathroom and naked for almost three years. He spent more than three years in Alcatraz but usually in solitary. What the warden and his staff did to him was unspeakable. He was only about 18 when he went in and because he was left virtually to die, he doesn't know how to speak properly or how to act around other people.

I cry every time I watch this movie. It starred Kevin Bacon as Henry Young and Christian Slater as the young lawyer who tries to defend him and get him out of Alcatraz before he is killed.
Both actors (and all of them really) give incredible performances.

Sorry to say that because true stories are exactly that - true - it does not have a happy ending. But it is a must see movie for anyone as it also illustrates the origin of Alcatraz - when it first opened and how it was operated.

Radio
Cuba Gooding Jr. is amazing in that movie. I really believed he was 'special' when watching it. The whole movie was so good and bittersweet. I did not cry however, until the credits, when I saw the real Radio running out onto the field with the players. That made me cry, because you realize that it all is totally true and sweet and amazing. I love that movie!

I would have to say Boys Don't Cry which starred Hillary Swank. She was a girl who felt she was trapped in a mans body. Very good movie.
