the devil always wants to see people bleed of their integrity and defiance. The only way to make them be a completely cruel thing like him, they must be stripped of whatever good they have left of them.

House arrest would be a hell of a punishment if the house was on fire. The evil life thing is cute IN ENGLISH. But to answer the Question actually asked, He doesn't.
Joining others off topic: Religion sucks, God is real and the Bible is true. Jesus was a radical and the religious right killed Him. Radical Christianity is spiritual NOT religious and is very simple Love God love each other spread the love. Religious Christianity is just as filthy as the Pharisees that Jesus called hypocritical when he walked the earth. Churchianity has made Jesus a religious figure and done more to keep people away from Him than to bring people to Him
peace & love all

good question, you would think they would be rewarded and all party like rock stars together sinning and having a ball. the logic dosn't work. if you really think about it, sounds like a threat that your parents tell you to get you to behave.
i believe that the references to the devil or satan throughout history, Christian or otherwise- is a metaphor for the the dual nature of life- the darkness that makes the light possible, in this relative world. there is no real solid place called hell- or a being that is the devil sitting in opposition to God. yet there is a sort of backwards living- evil is live spelled backwards. it is the energy of moving in the direction opposite of life. heaven and hell are both experienced right here on earth, and we choose that experience. you don't get damned to live there forever- every being has the opportunity to grow and to learn and to become a fully realized being of light.
this also includes the belief of reincarnation, thus we keep evolving, ascending higher and higher, forever and ever. life never ends. this is the life eternal, and it is beautiful, because you can't lose, and you are never punished, but only experience the results of you past actions, which is the method through which you evolve. there is only ascention, no regression. the idea that you will be reincarnated into a lesser evolved being is untrue, and doesn't follow the law of evolution.
*peace

Satan will not rule Hell or even the fallen angles that he now commands. The deceiver will be in no position to torment any one once he is cast int hell on judgment day.
His torments and deceptions today are designed to hurt God by pushing the proud into rejecting the truth of who Jesus was and is so when the Holy Spirit communicates it to them. By the way people wont wind up in Hell because they broke any of Gods commandments, but because they rejected the Holy Spirits witness that Jesus Paid for their sins and was God on Earth as the second person of the trinity. The devil knows that Hell was not made for people and God loves each person He created so when some one uses the free will which God will not violate to reject the free gift Of salvation it grieves God and that is the only way satan can hurt God, so he does it.

lol, kidvishus2003, house arrest isn't much of a punishment now, is it!?
If people are evil it is because God has chosen to make them evil (Rom 1:24-28) and caused them to disobey him (Rom 11:32). If they do not understand God's message it is because he has made their minds dull (Rom 11:8) and caused them to be stubborn (Rom 9:18). God prevents the Gospel from being preached in certain areas (Act 16:6-7) and he fixes long before it will happen when a person will be born and when he or she will die (Act 17:26). Those who were going to be saved were chosen by God before the beginning of time (ii Tim 1:9 Eph 1:11). If a person has faith and is thereby saved, their faith comes from God, not from any effort on their part (Eph 2:9-10). One may ask "If a person can only do what God predetermines them to do, how can God hold them responsible for their actions?"
Interesting how xtians rarely quote these...

Interesting... the Greek & Hebrew words commonly translated "hell," (hai'des and she'ohl, respectively) don't have a meaning consistent with common teachings today, that is, of fire and eternal torment. She'ohl actually means "grave," or "pit."
Hai'des (Hades, in English), only appeared 10 times in the original Greek manuscripts. In these instances, the KJV renders it "hell," but it actually means "the unseen place." An examination of the original uses of this word tells us that it carries the same meaning as its correspondent, she'ohl, that of being "the common grave of mankind." Neither word has the thought of a single grave, or a single pit, but rather, is general in its meaning. So pretty much... we're all goin to "hell."
Revelation (where it speaks of the lake of fire and sulfur) mentioned nothing of the Devil there.. rather, the Bible says that the lake of fire and sulfur means "the second death," (Rev. 20:14; 21:8). Symbolic of final destruction, no coming back.
That being said, I ask you... where did this idea of the Devil dressed in red, poking and prodding people with his pitchfork in an eternal hole of fire and sulfur get started? Hmm...

Most theologians of the Christian variety will tell you that the devil does not Torture anyone. He is a fallen angel who through hubris lost his divinity, and now tries to thwart God's will on Earth. Hell is so terribly painful because that is the only place in all of existence not touched by God. IE..... It is the loss of God's love that becomes the eternal torment.

The Devil doesn't punish them. They just receive the same reward as he does. For instance, if someone works for the Mob and gets caught and the Mob boss also gets caught, they both go to prison.

Interesting. If the Devil punishes evil people, then wouldn't that sort of make him good?

That isn't a punishment, it should seem that way. But God promises Heaven, and Satan promises Hell.
He will never take over Heaven. Nor the Earth, according to the Scriptures. The meek will survive.
