OK a bit of American history for you (we don't really get taught it at school in the UK- at least not at mine!!!).

1. If LHO assassinated JFK, what was his sentence going to be?

2. Why (officially), did Ruby kill LHO?

3. What happened to Ruby- is it true he had terminal cancer at the time?

Thanks!

I'm assuming you want serious answers to this post, so here goes. I would assume, being in America, the sentence for assassinating a President would have been death.

Ruby killed LHO 'on the spur of the moment', or so he says.
Ruby later had his conviction overturned, and died of a pulmonary embolism.

The following pages are very interesting, and may help answer your questions further.

LHO would have got the death penalty, no doubt, but there's no way they could afford to let him make it to trial

Ruby's ostensibly killed Oswald because he was an "altruistic avenger", in other words, out of a deep patriotism and love for Kennedy, and to save Jacke the pain of a trial (mm hmm)

He did have cancer, though I'm not sure when he died

Post Script: Ruby's cell was isolated from the rest of the prisoners, near the chief's office, with full-time security. "Jack liked special attention," says Abner. "He felt like they oughta prepare meals the way he wanted 'em. I ate strictly jail food, same as the prisoners, and I insisted he do the same. None of the girls came to see him. Just his lawyers, his sister Eva and his brother Earl. I couldn't help but overhear his conversations; so I'm pretty sure he wasn't involved in any conspiracy."

Ruby was riding high in the months after he shot Oswald. He doted over his daily shipment of fan mail, over 50 letters a day congratulating him, calling him a hero. "But after a while," Abner remembers, "the fan mail dropped off, and he got depressed."

Ruby was convicted, and he died of cancer in January 1967 while he was awaiting a retrial.

Try an IQ test - score 120+ you may get in to university. Score 150+ you may be smarter than me. Score 200+ and you're are scary Einstein helped develop the atom bomb with an IQ of around 200. The fact you're English may be worrying if you were that intelligent. But the stupid question suggests, otherwise.

Warning clicking on the following link can send your eyes funny - it was designed by people with "high IQ's".

Never a sentence for oswald..
corruption was rank....
jack was paid to do this..not for him..for his family and yes he was ill...
officially jack ruby was branded a loyalist to jfk and showed his disapproval of oswald to the maximum but conspiricy would have us believe otherwise :)
you are smarter...you created the question :)
