They're both great. Personally, I like to get them when they are kittens (or puppies) and watch them grow up. Usually, that's how you get the closest bonding.

kittens turn into cats and puppies turn into dogs. So, If I say kittens, that just means the kittens will grow up to be cats, and If I say puppies that just means the puppies will grow up to be Dogs. I'm sorry, what was the question.

Well a very difficult question!!!!!!!!!
Kittens - I would prefer a kitten to a full grown cat, as a kitten you can train a full grown cat is set in their ways, and come hell or high water you struggle to change.
Puppies - I prefer a puppy to a full grown dog as a puppy you can take to training school and are easier to train than full grown dogs.
But to make a decision on which to choose between dogs and cats, I can't make that type of decision because I am a animal lover period, there is no way that I can choose between them it is like someone telling you to choose between your son and daughter, that's how difficult it is

Cats There easily to take care of were as dogs you have to let them out and/or walk them in the heat
