Are you serious? It's 10 minutes after 10 o'clock. It will show that twice a day.

In the olden days, before digital timepieces were common, clocks and watches were called "analogue", and used movable hands to indicate the time. The manufacturers generally put their logos below the "12" symbol at the top of the clock/watch face. (Take a look at an old-style analogue watch and see for yourself.) In advertisements, the clock/watch showed the time to be 10:10, so the hands were not blocking the manufacturer's logo.

But in the modern era most timepieces are now digital. A stranger question to ask would be why do most *digital* watches show the time as 10:10 in advertisements, too? My guess is it must be merely tradition.....but maybe your guess will be better.
