It is on Tuesday morning, can drinking Monday night affect that test, how about drinking Sunday? Are they just testing to see if I go to the test drunk?? It does not make too much sense to me.

Levels that are "tested" in both urine and blood tests can stay in your system for up to 21 days. Most employers test for these like a previous person said to see about predictive behaviour. Sick days/personal days are very expensive to an employer and they try to avoid them as much as possible.

They want to see if you have abusive behavior which can affect your effectiveness on the job.Do you want a druggie, or a boozer on your working staff?

I think they want to ensure they are not employing someone who will reflect badly on the organisation i.e. someone who binge drinks or takes drugs.
