You are right!!!
I think we are getting there...women have come along way! As far as time goes back women have hid pregnancy or their changing weight etc. and it is so nice to see women, over the last few years, proud and beautiful. Maternity clothes have really changed too and that helps!!

That's one thing I never understood... With both of my pregnancies, I never once felt ugly, frumpy or fat. I have been overweight most of my life, and lost all my excess weight before I got pregnant (several years before. I had been thin for a while when I became pregnant.) Maybe it's because I knew what it was like to be fat, and being pregnant isn't the same as having a weight problem? I dunno...all I know is I LOVED being pregnant. I wouldn't say I felt sexy necessarily, but I did feel good about myself and knew I looked good. :)

Nothing in your wardrobe fits, it's either too hot or too cold, you're about three stone heavier than you're used to, and often especially early on, you don't quite look pregnant yet - just fat, which is confidence destroying. You're throwing up all the time, craving obscure things you can't get hold of, and panicking ever so slightly about how it's eventually going to get out of you. And if you're really lucky you've got a bloke who thinks your belly looks just like his beer belly, but bigger. Nice.

you may feel that you are ugle and frumpy because your body shape is changing so you may be having difficulty accepting this and you may have to change the way you dress to incorparate the pregnancy. this does not mean that you are ugly and frumpy and you just need time to adjust to this fact then you will feel beutiful and lovely and at the end of the pregnancy you will feel like the luckiest woman alive.

I didn't feel ugly and frumpy - I felt the absolute bollo* when I was pregnant. Loved every minute of it. But I had a very easy time. Not so much as a swollen ankle. Think other women have a much harder time of it.

my partner told me he fancied me more than ever while i was carrying both our children - he said there was a glow around me like something he'd never seen before - and admittedly our sex life was great while i was expecting!
I did feel frumpy but that is to do with hormones shooting up and down, the frumpy feeling is natural, but it is nice to be told how nice you look especially when it come from someone you are close too.

I've always been extremely slim and my changing (bulging) body caused me no end of problems in my head. It was so difficult not to wear my normal clothes and to have to buy huge bras. Other pregnant women are beautiful of course, it was just me! And thank you, on behalf of all women, for the compliment.

Well if you were a sexy size five with a great body and within months gained 20 pounds and couldn't even get out of bed without help because you have a huge melon in your belly I bet you wouldn't feel too sexy either.

Thats a really nice thing to say... if only all men felt that way about pregnant women, it would be much easier for women to feel good about themselves in a pretty uncomfotable time.

Perhaps because a man cannot impregnate a pregnant female and they (The female) feel they're not sexually attractive.
Plus most of the time there's the weight gain/shape change.
