The way at which this search engine is growing? Do you think it will lead to the extinction of Yahoo or other sites?

google has always been a search company. they are just now adding on other services, like email, and some other things, but their emphasis remains in search.

yahoo has been more of a service company from the beginning. email, chat clients, personals, tech and other forums, news, this answers forum, ..., with many more services to come in the future as well. Yahoo also has deals with other companies for internet service. google, not yet.

while google has a better search function, yahoo has other things that make it more valuable to more people, so yahoo is likely not going anywhere any time soon.

Google vs Yahoo is never a good comparion. Search is just a part of Yahoo! not everything. If you really want to compare, even MSN is a better fit.

Having said that, Google won't and can't kill Yahoo. Becos there is no value for Google to do so. While Google and Yahoo both competes for ad dollars, a market dominated by a single player will not be able to grow as fast as one that constantly improves with competition.

Not a chance, Unless there was a merger between the companies. As for the search engine business there is enough world population to spread to the love between all of them. Actually there's room for more.

I kinda hope not... Google pissed me off when they started up in China. Because of the communist government their searches are censored. This only helps communism.
