That's because the record labels they sign to limit the artist creativity in favor of a hit single to get radio play. Like most producers say when rappers come to them most of the time they say something like give me a Kanye like beat, or Hova like beat, or make me one of those Crunk or Snap beats. Main stream music is a Business and in Business the first think you learn is Go with what works. and Supply the people with what they want. If Snap music is hot this season bring out a Snap music Artist. Gangsta rap this season Find the new Gangsta Rapper sensation.

Rap or Hip Hop music is all the same now. Most rappers are sampling each others music to sell records and they all don't have talent anymore. I think some people get deals because of their looks. They all need to stop trying to play like they are all rich when in actuality most of them are struggling and have to rent homes and cars just like the rest of us.

Well maybe because the social issues they sing about are the same theme and while I feel Rap music should be call rap rhythm because it barely hold music.....perhaps it sounds the same as well ( hardly any melody)
Notice how most rappers cant sing ( always off key) but are incredible with rhythm

they're not u have to listen to it closely many of there music has the same themes because it's what rap fans want to here so all the songs will be about patrone and rims and snap but that doesnt mean its the same. many rappers have different meanings for all new rap slang. I guess it just depends on how YOU here it.

I would like to put it on record that Hip- Hop and Rap are different.
Rap- What u are speaking of. (Ludacris, Tupac)
Hip- Hop- Music with a real message. (Common)
They are goin with waht is hot right now. (snap music) Even if that is not what they really feel they have to et too. Some people (I stress SOME) are talking about real life and things that they expirienced. But be mindful that some rappers are from wealth families. So it really depends on who we are discussing.

Man, I'm reading all this, and truthfully it's kinda funny. Funny as in why all these people are making these comments. I'm in my thirties and have listen to Jazz, Blue, R&B and the various type of rap. The silliness of all this is, that there are different types of rap. LL Cool J, is not considered by any means gangsta rap. So what's the hoopla. And for the comment that, rap is crap music. Who's to say what's music and what's not. That's like saying who's american and who's not. "Silly" Look, those guys paved the way for other's to do their thing. Does it really matter, that these guys don't play and insturment!!! It's like the they guy who can play like Micheal Jordon vs the guy who plays like Pee-wee Herman. Some people have the gift to perform other's don't. And if these so call people look closely, he will see lot's of women in these videos. And if it does not bother them, then why is everybody so uptight about it????? So I dont feel how the Sheriff can make such a statement. What does he feel that people would behave themselves better if Linkin Park vs Lucacris???. Sounds like somebody needs a reality check.....
Let's go back in history and see, who really started gangst rap, and put it out there for everybody to see!
Rap is not meant to be music. It is poetry set to music. Whether or not you like it doesn't really matter. The generation that listens to it and supports it, are people just as important as you. If banning (censorship) is allowed for certain types of music, then what's next, banning certain types of people from the casinos. We call that racial-profiling.
In case most of you have forgotten, in the 50's, Elvis Presley was banned from radio and television because of his type of music and physical gyrations. And now you can not go anywhere in Vegas without seeing something with his likeness on it.
"If you don't know your history you're dammed to repeat it."

Every genere of music does this when it peaks & is the biggest style of music selling at the moment... in this country at least... and whatever sells, labels are trying to format & produce their up & comings towards or against this terrible trend. In a year or so, things should start getting more creative & new - hang in there.

While there are all kinds of different rap, the main reason why it seems like all rap is the same is because the rap making the mainstream has become as formulaic as pop, kiddy punk (simple plan, blink 182 when they existed), or any other genre.

Sadly, the noise being made is not music to begin with and is only brain washing the kids in a very uneducated way with no substance or content worth listening to at all.
