Does anyone else agree that the change of director and producer is clearly obvious in this 3rd part?

I mean at the end of Karate Kid 2 - he fights for his lafe and all of a sudden, he returns to America and he's a wimp!!
Scared of this so-called bad boy, Mike Barnes who strongly resembles Jonny from the first film.

What happened, one minute fighting for his life, next scared of an average John Doe - what do you lot think

These type of movies are created to cash in on the teen market. Bullying in school, the unpopular pupil that makes good, etc, is always a good money spinner. You have to have conflict in films nowadays to make it watchable. There's only so many ways you can cook a turkey.
The thing is, Karate like most sports takes years of training for the body to adapt no matter how good you are.
Again as I say, to cash in on the teen market, reality goes out the window..

I think that film directors, writers etc always try get more money by making a third, fourth or even fifth film but they always seem to run out of ideas and lose the plot, if they have a sucess they should stop there and do a completely different type of film.

I do agree. One and Two were amazing!

Three was just a sad attempt to make it a trilogy. Don't even get me started on The Next Karate Kid. Ugh!

Ummm...all Karate Kid Movies were an ultimate cheese fest, I think. I mean, if you're watching them looking for quality acting, writing or directing, I think you're barking up the wrong tree.

Ralph Macchio for christsakes!!!
