If 3 people in front of you take a QB, your fellow managers are as sharp as a bag of marbles. DO NOT TAKE A QB IN THE FIRST ROUND!!!!
I don't even care what your scoring methods are. Do not take a QB in the 1st round. There is so much depth at QB this year, you can get a very good - great QB in the 4th - 6th round.
Here are the QB's that should be the top ten taken, in no specific order.
1. Peyton Manning (he should be #1 QB)
2. Carson Palmer (probably 2nd best)
3. Donovan McNabb
4. Daunte Culpepper
5. Trent Green
6. Marc Bulger
7. Tom Brady
8. Matt Hasselbeck
9. Jake Delhomme
10. Jake Plummer
If you notice, I left off notable QB's like Vick, McNair, Bledsoe, Leftwich, Brooks, Brees, Warner, E. Manning, and Favre.
That's 19 starting QB's that are all pretty close in value. However, after the top flight RB's are gone, you don't have jack squat to choose from.
Here is the order, if the managers don't have soft foam in between their ears.
1. LaDanian Tomlinson
2. Shaun Alexander
3. Larry Johnson (order of top 3 may switch)
4. Edgerrin James
5. Clinton Portis
Since you are picking 6, I would either look to trade down to the bottom of the round, or look to move into the top 3. If you can't trade draft picks, per say, look to see if anyone would want Manning in a trade below you or look to take 1 of these RB's. Rudi Johnson, Domanick Davis, Cadillac Williams, Ronnie Brown, Willis McGahee, Deuce McAllister, LaMont Jordan (especially if you get pts for receptions). I would hold off on Tiki as he is inconsistent from year to year. If any of these RB's are available when you have your pick in the 2nd round, or possibly Kevin Jones, Julius Jones, Steven Jackson, Ahman Green, or Jamal Lewis, TAKE THEM IMMEDIATELY (I think Reggie Bush is a 2nd - 3rd round pick). The only non-RB I might contemplate taking in the 2nd round is Peyton Manning. I probably wouldn't take Steve Smith that early (assuming there are 10 managers) as he has yet to put up 2 great years back to back. If it is a 12 team league or more and Smith is available at your pick on the way back, take him then.
Good luck and remember NO QB'S IN THE 1ST ROUND!!!! I don't know how else to tell you that.
Remember, it isnt always about getting the best player available, but getting the most out of each draft pick. If you insist on taking a QB in the 1st e rounds, which sounds better on your team. P Manning, K Jones, and C Benson (could be really good, could suck) or Rudi Johnson, S Jackson, and D. Culpepper/McNabb? I would take the 2nd option, minus the QB and get a top notch WR in the 3rd round.
You generally cant go wrong with RB's in the 1st 2 rounds, but taking a QB in the 1st definitely won't help.

You forgot about that other guy alexander,he'll go either first or second, tom brady and hassleback will go earliest in da fourth after carson palmer. If ur league is standard then the most important position 4 u is a running back. Clinton Portis will prolly be gone and ur most likely goin end up with either Tiki or James, if Tiki is availble take him if not then Edge. Runningbacks are the best position in da draft they score alot of points and are not easily replaceable. Qb's however can be picked up later on. Last year many ppl had dagood instinct of havin ppl like Drew Bledsoe and Jake Delhomme in later picks while others got burned wit earlier picks like Brett Favre

Here are some people you come choose:
QB- Jake Delone or however you spell it. Or the popular Michael Vick.
RB- Shaun Alexdaner or Tiki Barber.
WR- Randy Moss, Terell Ownes, Marvin Harrison, Torry Holt, or Steve Smith.
MLB- Dan Morgan or Jemeriah Throtter.
CB- Champ Baliey.
FS- Darren Sharper or Brian Dawins.
SS- Troy Polmanu( he was everywhere on the football field for the Stellers.)

u kidding me? if shaun alexander is still there at the 6th pick, you're drafting in a league full of idiots...well at least the people picking 3rd, 4th, and 5th.
realistically, edgerrin james would be a nice 6th pick. i don't see portis or barber getting into the endzone more than james...which is what yahoo leagues emphasize.
hasselbeck and brady won't be taken in the first round...you're insane to think that.

Tiki Barber, Shaun Alexander and Chad Johnson would all be good options. I'm guessing Alexander will already be off the board, since neither Brady nor Hasselbeck will go that early.

the only ones from your list that will be gone is Johnson, LT and Peyton. At the 6th pick I would say Tiki Barber or Clinton Portis if they are available.

these people are morons
odds are brady and hasslebeck wont be taken
don't take a defensive player thats stupid
dont take jake DELHOMME, or michael vick
aim for rudi johnson or clinton portis if theyre available
manning might be available, depending on your scoring
odds are it'll look like this.
1. LJ
2. alexander
3. LT
4. portis
5. manning/rudi johnson
6. you can pick manning or RJ, both great
but it really depends on your scoring format
