Refund / Rebate checks will normally be made in the co-signer's name. Legally, although you are both responsible for the loan, the co-signer is considered the primary account holder. I am not saying every situation is like this, however it is the norm.

You are the applicant then the check must be under your name, and the cosigner will have to pay your loan if and when you cannot, he acts as the guarantor of the said loan, so then he must have by himself a good credit standing. You and anyone else can deposit the check but you are the only one who can withdraw it

Hopefully you asked and read what you applied for first. The check will be made out to you alone if you are the applicant. If you do not pay the debt, they will come to the cosigner for it.

Yes they will check both of your Credit, and both of you will have to sign, and both of you will be responsible. The purpose of a co-signer is if you bail out or don't pay the loan pymt then they go after the co-signer..

It depends on whether the check is written to "name1 or name2" or "name1 and name2". "Or" would mean that either one could cash the check. "And" would mean that the check would have to be endorsed by both.
