my bith name is diane may malone . i was born in 1965 and was adopted by the west family when i was about 7yrs old. I was born in st MARYS, Manchester. a part from this i do not know what my mothers first name . If you go to summerset house for your original birth certificate it will give you your mothers name. You can then look for her name(or pay to have it done) in marriages and births after you. It also gives an area.
This should enable you to start searching in the right area and cut down on time. Also (silly as it sounds) friends reunited/genes reunited may be able to help.

Good luck sweetheart. Go on Friends reunited they have a section on this and you put the info all that you know from scratch to finish even if minor in your eyes then if anyone knows your mother or other family relations you go from there. Do you have your adoption papers? im sure you can contact social services they may help. I know you can search your mother but she cant search for you. Please let us know how you went along. i was also adopted and it is cool. i sent a certified letter to the capitol where i was born and requested, for health reasons that i get a copy of my original birth certificate. when it came it had my bio moms name on it but she withheld the dad. had her address on there when i was born, i called information and there was people with that last name still living there. wrote them a letter and told them who i was(they were her parents) and they gave the letter to her. hope it is as easy for you but alot of times it is not that easy.
