oh wow, and here i thought i was the only one.
Mine WAKE me up it hurts so bad, and after rolling around the bed clutching this piece of meat i call my calf, waiting, hoping, for the pain to end.
But, for some reason, it is just a cramp. I'm not really sure how or why, but the muscle seizes up and kinda just strains itself. it will hurt and ache for a couple days (mine do) but not real bad and it will get beter and better before you even realize it. My advice is to stretch it out whenever you can, like with toe raises. Whatever will bring your toes closer to your shin...does that make sense? and then relax the muscle by doing the opposite and pointing your toes out. don't do it too far where itll kill you, but far enough to feel you're giving it a good stretch.
By now, sometimes i can feel it coming on in my sleep, and i react fast enough that i can avoid it by relaxing the calf muscle and pointing my toes out (or down if your sitting)
hope this helps cause i can be counfusing.

Yes. That was a charlie horse. I used to get them all the time, and they were painful. My doctor said it was due to dehydration. You are not drinking enough water. Try drinking more water, especially in the evening, and they will go away.

This sounds like a muscle spasm. Are you taking enough calcium? If a person has low calcium, then muscle spasms result. They can also be caused by certain drugs.

Yeah, sounds like a cramp, I got those during in my teens. Agonising.
I recommend getting a sports massage on a regular basis.

Take deep breaths. Eat 2 bananas a day. Learn to spell. This will solve your problems.
