Not that Belgium is the only European nation to have done crappy things in Africa, but what went on in the Congo was really over the top.

Belgium is not so much in denial as they are ignoring their past and hoping that the eternal state of civil war and border raids that exist throughout Africa will cover their tracks. The French do the same; that is one of the bonds these countries share. They both choose to ignore the civil unrest that they helped to create in order to rape the countries of their natural resources.

They profit heavily from the discord; taking the resources at a fraction of their value and not reinvesting in the country. They allow the civil wars and unstable governments to provide cover for thier actions. What these countries have done, and continue to do in Africa is unconscionable.

And where is Europe's court of human rights? France, who happens to be Belgium's closest ally.

i doubt maximum of belgium comprehend their gov & businesses are doin undesirable in africa. theres a reason africa is continually at warfare interior of itself & continually undesirable. they have riches in components. from all the jewels (of the congo especially; diamonds, rubies, jade, ect) to all the useful metals we adore a lot. all the commercial components (magnesium, manganese, metallic. copper, duralumin, zinc, silica, ect). if africa have been to get it at the same time & take administration of their components it would bankrupt the corrupt businesses that save africa (as properly because of the fact something of the worldwide decrease than their boots). the bush kinfolk has been stealing their components for 0.5 a century.

Most of that colonial phase was rather brutal in some areas. For some, it's just another chapter in history.
