Are Belgians in denial when it comes to the whole Congo thing?

Not that Belgium is the only European nation to have done crappy things in Africa, but what when on in the Congo was really over the top.

i doubt most of belgium know their gov & businesses are doin bad in africa. theres a reason africa is constantly at war within itself & constantly poor. they have riches in resources. from all the jewels (of the congo in particular; diamonds, rubies, jade, ect) to all the precious metals we like so much. all the industrial materials (magnesium, manganese, steel. copper, duralumin, zinc, silica,ect). if africa were to get it together & take control of their resources it would bankrupt the corrupt businesses that keep africa (as well as the rest of the world under their boots). the bush family has been stealing their resources for half a century.

i think a lot of people are in denial when it comes to their country's questionable behavior. i recently met some germans and they werent really willing to talk about the holocaust. *shrug*
