A unique endemic biota formed in the lake preceding modern Black Sea during millions years of its isolation from the Ocean. Most of the species inhabiting freshwater Sarmatian Sea-lake are extinct now, whereas few of them managed to adapt to the changing environment and have survived to this date in the deep deep water - mostly those that managed to escape the rise in the salinity level in river estuaries...

No, there's no life in the Black Sea byeond about 100-200 meters. The water below this level is anoxic (without oxygen) and can't support any life. I don't know why it is anoxic, though.

Yeah and guess what... They found evidence that it used to be a valley and was most likely the source of the Noah story ripped off the Gilgamesh story made up by folks who thought world travel was from London to Paris
