I got pregnant the first time with IVF!! I have a very healthy five in a half yr old girl. It is a long, stressfull, process. It does not always work, you have to be able to give yourself shots, go thriugh lots of dr. appointments, have two minor procedures, one when they harvest your folicles and the other when they implant the embryo back into you. It is so stressful all you think is if this does not work then what. You worry the whole time, they tell you to be relaxed but you can't because you want this to work so bad. I think it is a miracle that they can do this for couples, I am so thankful that they can, If this is the way you do go I really wish you luck, be patient, pray alot!! i am not a religious person, but i prayed alot!! It can be done. I also know women that it was there 2, 3 ,4 5 time trying. Just have the most positive attitude you can..

People who have been telling you 90% are misleading you or deranged!!!

On average, if you collate IVF clinic's results the chances of IVF working are approximately 33%, this applies to women under 38.
Women over 38, then slightly less at 28%. However, this applies to women becoming pregnant through IVF... live births however, are another statistic, this reduces the success in women under 38 to 23% and women over 28 to 17%.

These are stats from the UK, the USA might be different, check with the governing body there.

It's nowhere near 90% chance of success, it takes the average couple three attempts to successfully go through the whole pregnancy.
I had 3 attempts, gave up and then by some miracle gave up hoping and fell pregnant naturally.
It is very expensive and is a real big strain for a relationship but the reult if successful is worth it.
Only a IVF specialist can tell you how likely it is to work for you (IVF is not suitable for all ppeople).
Good luck

The CDC keeps records of the IVF success rates across the country. The last report (2003) revealed a 32% success rate for pregnancy with fresh, non-donor eggs.
I'm not sure how endo and blocked tubes will factor into this success rate.

A lot of REs are now referring their Endo patients to Endo specialist surgeons who can EXCISE the disease before embarking them on IVF protocols. Excision is way different and far superior to the regular ablation and vaporization which only superficially removes some disease temporarily from some locations. See www.centerforendo.com. Once the disease is truly removed from all locations, fertility will resolve (even in more than half of the stage 4 patients who undergo excision) and sometimes, IVF is not even needed thereafter. Check into www.ivf.com and the site above for more info, and GOOD LUCK to you.

Well you already are having problems but that doesn't mean to say it wont happen-- its just a case of if it happens on the first attempt.

I dont know the true % rate but i think that if you are having problems with blocked tubes- the chances are reduced slightly.

I do hope that it works for you i see it on t.v all the time and there are success stories i hope that yours is one of them

Good luck

The chances of IVF are always 50/50 under normal circumstances what ever normal means. if you are in Sydney then I can recommend SYDNEY IVF, www.sydneyivf.com.au. my wife and I used them after a nightmare with another IVF specialist in Sydney, and she is now 4mths Pregnant because of the Experts at SYDNEY IVF.

Get your IVF-invitro fertilisation treatment in India .IVF treatment ,IUI,ICSI,artificial insemination and Laparoscopic surgery is very cheap in India. There is one company that is very famous in India that arranges all types of medical treatment andsurgery for foreigners in India. They are called the Forerunners Healthcare.I read a lot about them in the Newspapers and about their patient stories.I have also read that they arrange financing for american and canadian patients as some of the surgery including ivf treatment is not covered by insurance.

They also have photos pasted of their International patients. You can checkout their website. The cost savings are incredible. As a doctor i personally believe that your IVF treatment can be easily handled in India as the quality of healthcare available here is simply best in the world. The doctors are USA/UK trained and facilities are 5 star.I recently also read about a chinese couple facilitated by forerunners healthcare were able to get their baby by IVF and a surrogate mother.

my cousin and her husband got their IVF treatment in India through the forerunners healthcare in India and is all praise for this company. She is also a known case of stage 3 endometriosis and blocked tubes. She is a very happy mother of a baby boy now. She just paid 2500 pounds for the full treatment for which she was quoted 7500 pounds in private setup in UK.I strongly recommend this company to you as they can be of great help to you.hope this helps

I have heard before that the success rate is almost the exact same as conceiving naturally (there may be a slight difference in the percentages, though)... and I seriously doubt that it is around 90% or more!!
