Fresh ginger, grated and steeped in hot water (don't drink it too hot) is wonderful for the throat. Lemon and honey in warm water are also good. All of these can be taken regularly to prevent sore throats.
You know how you usually have leftover pickled ginger at japanese restaurants? I always bring mine home to use as mentioned above.
Also: avoid diary products.

4 teaspoons of honey and the juice from half a lemon in hot (ish) water, and rest your voice. It could be the onset of laryngitis due to a bacterial infection, in that case you will have to postpone the singing! Good luck!

drink the yellow part of a raw egg wash your face with icy water and band forword pull the front hair of your head litle pulls not strong to refresh blood streaming in the head that will do it

lemon and honey drink
manuka honey (not sure of spelling; cant be bothered to go downstairs to my cupboard!) would be best for healing properties
