A large part of India's economy is from the technology industry, and English has a wider technical vocabulary than any other language. Also, one of my friends from India told me that there are lots of official languages there, like over 20. If everyone knows English, they can work together on the same projects more easily.

In many countries where there are lots of different languages you need a language that every one can communicate in. In India and many African countries that is English. It is good because no group is forcing other smaller groups to learn their language and it gives you access to lots of books/Internet sites etc as well.

because they took my job, my job was outsourced to India, so when our customers call in they will get an Indian on the line. Even if they do speak English, the US is not used to the accent, people do not like to deal with foreigners
